Homemade lactofermented veggies! This lovely kraut consists of green cabbage, red cabbage, onions, garlic, and carrots. It will likely continue to brew for another several days before it is perfect!

As I was dropping something off at school for my son this morning, I saw this on the wall of the corridor. Even the school system takes violence seriously. If children display violence, there are consequences. I wish that places of employment took this more seriously.

This is a neat little before-and-after I did of my home. When I pulled into my driveway at 9am, it was sunshine and blue skies. I was very skeptical that snow was in the forecast. Just three hours later, at noontime, the snow was coming down!

Believe it or not, when I snapped this photo this afternoon, the state had already issued a winter storm advisory for the entire region. Hard to believe that cities just a half hour north of us were getting hit with snow!

I'm so sad that Costco has sold out to foreign pineapples. Being a native Hawaiian, it makes my heart heavy that so much of what Hawaii is known for is slowly being eroded away... gone are the large industries of pineapple and sugar cane. Foreign labor is cheaper. By the way... this pineapple didn't taste nearly as good as the Hawaiian ones.

Made some yummy bran muffins this morning. I know the terms "yummy" and "bran muffins" aren't typically used synonymously. However, I can assure you that these were quite scrumptious. I added chocolate chips in place of raisins and the kids are begging me to make another batch tomorrow!

Here is the mug that I got from the Harry Potter Exhibit last night. They had several mugs there to choose from and of course this was the most expensive at $14.99. But I bought it anyway and thus far I LOVE it. It has a secret Marauder's Map on it but it doesn't show up until you put hot liquid into the cup! Sorry the pictures are proportional!
