January 22, 2010

This was a bright spot in the day. Our house got robbed today. I can't get over how terribly violated I feel. I don't care about the stuff that was taken. I just care that people came into my home and violated my sense of safety. I was feeling down about it. Mike brought dinner to me at work last night and this chocolate rose came with it. It certainly made me smile and reminded me about what is important in life.

Happy Birthday Boot!

Today is Bekah's birthday... Happy 24th! To celebrate, we went out to the Mongolian Grill with family. We had a nice time. It's not my favorite place to go and I REALLY have to be in the mood (i.e., that means once a year or so), but it was fun.

January 20, 2010

It was actually hard to pick a photo for today. I had a beautiful one of the sky with the most beautiful diffused clouds. It's been a gorgeous day! But there will be other gorgeous days to look forward to. Instead, I chose a picture of cheesecake... chocolate coconut cream cheesecake from The Cheesecake Factory, to be exact! I got to meet with a former coworker (and REALLY great friend) of mine. I haven't seen Pam in probably over a year now. I live south and she lives way up in Mukilteo. I know, I know... excuses, excuses. But we finally managed to get ourselves together and it was absolutely wonderful to see her again and catch up on everything. And just as it should be with true friendship, by the time lunch was done, it was as though no time had passed at all. Thanks for an awesome afternoon Pam!!

After the 100 Monkeys concert last night, Jodi and I were walking back toward the car when we spotted a few of the Monkeys hanging out a window and talking to a few fans. So we stopped and got lucky enough to hang out for another hour or so. At some point, they threw a bunch of Scrabble tiles out the window to the fans. Not sure what the significance of that was, but here's my take.

I went to the Showbox SODO last night with Jodi to see 100 Monkeys in concert. This isn't the greatest picture... I was using an iPhone in a dark venue without flash. But it captures what I wanted. These guys are AMAZING performers and have an incredible stage presence. True entertainers!

Shape Collage for Project 365

This is a Shape Collage that I made using all the photos in the "Mobile Uploads" folder of my Facebook page. This is what I intend to do with all my photos for Project 365. Maybe I'll make them in the shape of "2010." That would be fun! I thought I'd post this here since it's so fitting to the project. I am so excited about this I can hardly stand it!

Project 365 - Intro

So I saw the idea for Project 365 on some random site and decided it was totally up my alley!! Here's a great little tutorial on the matter by Photojojo. It involves taking a picture every single day for an entire year. It screams "me"! I'm gonna give it a shot. I probably will miss days here or there, but the idea intrigued me so much that even if I don't have a shot for every single day, I'll still be happy. I have a camera with me AT ALL TIMES, so it's not like I have that as an excuse. There is so much going on around us in the world. Why not capture it in a creative manner??? So here goes... My only regret is that I didn't start on the first of the year. Oh well, I'm only 18 days late right?! Ready... Set... SNAP!!
